Hi guys,

I've concluded that it would probably take more trouble than it's worth to find shirts and jackets that fit me how I like. I'm of medium height (about 5' 9.5"), usually weigh between 145 and 150 lbs. and have a slight frame. My chest measurement isn't big - like a 36 or a bit less, but I have an "athletic" shape (reasonably narrow torso in proportion to the width of my shoulders).

My arms are long. My neck is pretty slim. I like my stuff fitted, but I haven't found any off the rack shirts or jackets that really fit and would probably take too much altering to make them worthwhile. (Either I drown in things or it seems that makers assume that a small chest or waist also equals narrow shoulders and then I can't get my arms through the sleeves - or move my arms.)

So - I live north of Toronto. Can anyone suggest some good, reasonably priced (as far as "reasonable" is concerned when we're talking about custom work) tailors that are north of Toronto (Richmond Hill, Thornhill, etc.) and easily accessible via public transit? I'm sure there are a number of them in Toronto itself, but trekking through the city is something I'm not wild about.

I'd like someone that's friendly, patient and knows what styles work well for an individual, from the shape of their body to what they do to how a garment impacts their whole appearance.

If there's truly nobody out of the city, whom would you suggest seeing in Toronto?

If you all could make any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

Best Regards

Check out House of Rome in Woodbridge. Tony just made me a simple charcoal suit and it fits great - not sure if his place is that accessible by transit but well worth the trip if you can get someone to drive you.

Can PM me if you need more details etc !

Hiya!

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for mentioning them. I see they have a website, but it appears not to load for me (page not found); tried it though a proxy, too, but to no avail. I found a little writeup on them, though. Sounds like a good place. It certainly meanders a ways west of the main routes - but it might be doable.

Thanks!

Any more suggestions from anyone?
