Fit wise, they do a pretty good job at copying, so bring a shirt that you like and that'd work.

I walked into the fabric market because I happened to be in that area. I would gladly have given them a try at that price if I had had an extra shirt with me. I don't know I'd trust them to do it from measurements.

Most of them can follow exactly of your sample but quality of the fabric is no-no. Go to the 3rd storey where there is a shop selling buttons and grab some MOP for your better shirt project in the future.

I know there's a BAPE store, at Xintiandi I think.

But for streetwear type stuff there is Aegis, a boutique. Lots of brands mentioned on the forum. Common Projects is the only one I can recall at the moment.

Yes try Xintiandi for street wears and Plaza 66 (I.T or Joyce or sth) for high-end stuff. I have stopped watching those brands for some year so maybe I am wrong.
But why you want to buy them in Shanghai? Why not HK?

There are a lot of great options for men here now:

1. Project Aegis - Opposite the Pushkin monument at the triangle of Taojiang, Fenyang and Dongping Roads, this is a something of a local stalwart with brands like Steve Alan, Public School, formerly Band of Outsiders and a whole host of other artisanal stylish casual type brands. There is also a great cafe at street level for people watching. - 1 Taojiang Lu
2. NOOS - Italian/Neapolitan type mix of brands at high prices - 1315 Fuxing Zhong Lu
3. American Rag Cie - The LA multi-brand store features Maharishi, Saturday's Surf, Hollywood Ranch Market, etc. L1-15A, L2-12, L2-13 Crystal Galleria,68 Yuyuan Road
4. Industrial - Workwear and serious denim - 741 Julu Road
5. Rivets - Workwear and serious denim - No. 87 Nanchang Road

I would strongly suggest walks down Nanchang Road, Julu Road, and many others. There are just so many charming streets here and you are bound to discover many things of interest.

I have just started a designer consignment store called Pawnstar. Our shop is in the beautiful Clement Apartments at 1363 Fuxing Middle Road. Please get in touch if you would like to come by. We offer a nice selection of menswear.

We are in this lovely building, which is enough of a reason for a visit:

Obviously there are still stalwarts like W. W. Chan but there is a sea of interesting tailoring options these days.
