So I'll be there for about 10 days. I'm really looking for thrift stores and consignment shops and the like, and maybe boutiques if there are some really cool ones. I'm not looking for Kiton and Brioni...I'm a casual clothes person.

    Thanks,

    Dan

A cool boutique I remember from a few years ago is Blake in the alphabet district (where you should go botique kind of stores). I was there only a week after their grand opening and met Blake. The fred perry track jacket I got there was my first ever "designer" purchase and turned me into the semi-fashion-whore I am today [IMG]

There are some great consignment and record stores in the same area as Portland's largest independent bookstore. Sorry, I can't be more specific, if you ask around it's pretty easy to find.

I would recommend Marios, which is located across from Nordstrom in Pioneer Square. Â When I was going to school for undergrad in Oregon, I would drive into Portland and shop there. Â Their website is www.marios.com. In terms of pricing, they are on the expensive side, since they carry brands such as Zegna, Loro Piana, Kiton just to name a few. Although Marios might not be what you are looking for, it is worth a look nonetheless.

I'd drop into John Helmer, Haberdasher. One of the oldest Men's shops left in the city. Worth a look.
