Hey all,

I'm going to NYC next week on a business trip for a few days. Is there a particular clothing store or two that I just "have to visit" in either Manhattan or Midtown? In particular, a store that I wouldn't have in Chicago.

Thanks!

+1 Works of art really. Don't expect great customer service, though.

Just go walking around SoHo, you'll see tons of great stores. If you looking for something a little more unique and artsy check out the West village.

You MUST stop by Brunello Cucinelli on Bleeker and Massimo Bizzocchi in the Meatpacking district (which has tons of other high end stores as well).

Bergdorf Goodman men's store & Barney's. Walk along Madison Ave from the mid-40's until... well, just keep walking until you've had enough. West Village for a number of cool stores. This includes Leffot, which was mentioned above. SoHo for some interesting stores as well, though many are also on Madison. Nolita - Prince & Spring Streets, Elizabeth Street (Barker Black, Seize Sur Vingt - also available at the Plaza Hotel in mid-town, right by the park, The shave of NY - right next to BB), the John Varvatos store on Bowery.

The lesser department stores such as Bloomingdale's & Saks. Macy's on Herald Square (if you must).

That's just off the top... Have fun.

This time of the year is not very exciting. Stores are restocking to spring/summer and in looks quite disappointing. I remember freezing temperatures outside, yet when stepping inside department stores all I noticed was shorts, t-shirts and fancy flip-flops.

Do an advanced search and search by titles only. This should actually be the default...
