Going to Milan, looking to purchase a MTM or Bespoke Suit

Hi All - I am from Toronto, and work at a Bay St Financial Institution. Suits are my life now, but I've bought mostly off the rack and got them tailor fitted. My usual go to stores are Nordstorm and Harry Rosen.

I am vacationing in Milan over the summer. Starting with about couple of days at Milan, then heading to Tuscany, and then back again to Milan for the last couple of days.

When in Milan I'm hoping to get 2-3 suits.

I am only guessing that the suits will be cheaper than what they are sold in Toronto. Especially as I'm aiming to get a few Zegnas.

I am torn between True bespoke or MTM, or OTR. Given I'm only there for 3-4 days, fitting and return trials will be tough. I am perfectly fine with the shops mailing me the suits when complete.

So the question here is - store recommendations in and around Milan that I can take the transit or drive to? How many trials will I need? And will a budget of 5k EUR be enough for 2-3 suits, or 2 suits and a Sports Jacket?

My last question is - spending that type of money, does it really get a product and fit miles ahead of what might be had in Toronto?

I'm Canadian too (but live in the US a few months of the year) so maybe this will be helpful! I'm in Vancouver but the selection between both cities is fairly similar.

A custom made suit won't necessary be better than something off the rack and then tailored. A lot of major brands visit Toronto and do MtM events BTW. I know Isaia did one in Vancouver a little while ago and if they did YVR then I bet they did Toronto too. Your hunch about OTR + tailoring being better a bespoke suit when you're only there for a few days is correct. Most places will have a fairly lengthy process.

While Zegna is nice, with that budget I would look at @ Attolini, Isaia, etc...

You can find the above on sale ~$800 - $1500 for a sport coat sometimes and a full suit for $2000 - $3000, especially Isaia.
