Going to Christmas ball in 3 days and don't have suit for it

I currently have a major problem. I have the school Christmas dance on Friday. It's formal just like a prom.
My parents didn't seem to listen when I said that I needed a suit for it. We went shopping and my dad just treated it like a joke.

Long story short, I never got a suit, I ended up with some hideous cheap navy coloured trousers and a shirt which is smart casual.

I can't go to this dance as the worst dressed guy there. I haven't got the money to buy anything else, but every other guy will be wearing a suit.

I'm also just feeling really upset that they wouldn't listen to what I was saying and the end result is something I don't want to wear. I was actually hoping to look good.

This is urgent. What should I do?

I know things are “different” now, than when I was in HS, but I’d simply say to your parent(s), what you wrote here.
Keep in mind, maybe it’s an affordability issue for them.
If you have a nice sweater, wear it with the shirt and trousers and have a nice time.

Either:
1. go to a thrift store
2. buy and then return (BE CAREFUL! CHECK THE STORE'S RETURN POLICY)
3. tell your friends and your dates to dress like you
