Love the look of the pigskin models they have on their bespoke gallery. Anyone ever use pigskin for bespoke shoes? Is it used primarily for casuals, or can one get a balmoral made up with pigskin as well?

As always, any pics would be appreciated.

I have pigskin gloves and it's particularly stiff/tough. Not sure how that would translate to shoes.

i find they wear very simular to shell cordovan but they hold their shine much better, i would consider another pair in pig skin i love the black derby that G&G have as a BS sample

    thx!

i like the pig skins alot, i know on the cleverley site they have some qtr brogues

i think it is much better to use skin with natural grain than enbosed calf depending on the embose of course

i think ed hayes did some wholecuts in pig skin too again with G&G

Do they take a shine as well as regular ol' calfskin?

almost as good as regular calf, as mine are derby's i wont mirror shine them like i would oxfords, but they hold their shine so much better than shell
