I've got to recommend this shirt. Its one of my favorites, gets heavy rotation in the summertime.

What is the fit like in the waist on these warehouse sales? I found like 4 I like but have no Idea on GBV fits

Could anyone compare them to BB, Bonobos or J Crew?

BB tends to be baggier, i'd equate to bb extra slim or J crew. that shirt had a pretty relaxed, beachy feel without being a billowing mess.

Gitman is M is like a JCrew M slim or S (regular). The quality of GV is in a whole other league. That native shirt is heavy spring summer rotation for me too.

It was funny... I was looking at that French linen shirt on sale last SS, wanting to buy it. But then it ran out in my size. I guess it all worked out fine in the end. Gitman linen shirts are so nice in the summer.

I think it's important to mention that Gitman Vintage shirts are just cut differently from a regular J Crew or Ralph Lauren shirt. They are more tapered at the waist instead of just going straight down. I think this makes them look better tucked in but it can look bad on people with certain proportions.

I've found that Gitman vintage in M fits more like my j crew Large slim. Both are tight on the too block for me although the Gitman is a big tighter. However it's not very tapered imo? I have to drastically tailor both. That could be because I have a 42" chest and 30.5" waist though..

I think it's because you have a 12" drop. No OTR shirtmaker would ever make a shirt with a drop anywhere approaching that.

In all the fit pics I've seen of GV shirts, it looks like they flare out at the bottom.

That's what I meant to imply. It's more akin to a blouse than other mens shirts so if you have a gut it won't be flattering. I think it looks better on those with a V shaped torso.

I think those with V shape torso will need to take in the sides, other wise there is just too much excess material especially if you plan to tuck.
