Just got this light brown Cantarelli after our discussion of gingham/check sport coats. Label says "Cantarelli Per Sartoria Italiana." Very soft shoulder, much more than I'm used to. Apologies for the Moire pattern and the jeans, I'm using my ****** webcam. (Crooked) RLBL blazer pic included for comparison/critque. Thoughts?

Looks good as it is. You need to make your shirt cuffs show somehow though.

One of the better fitting RLBLs that I have seen.

The SC button placement seems a little high, no?

It's a 3/2 but the buttoning point does seem to be a little high. It's half lined and seems to be half canvassed made of 90% wool and 10% angora. It's very comfortable because of the lack of structure and fits pretty slim but it's definitely not as clean a chest as I'm used to with my RLBL stuff and I'm not sure it looks quite as good. It fits a little roomier in the chest and I don't see any pulling even when I walk. Maybe a little nip at the waist? This is my first experience with the neopolitan style garment.

It doesn't nip at the waist because the buttoning point is too high. The shoulders fit extremely well though, but the sleeves are too long.

If that's a 'regular' length SC, you could try on the 'long' and then have the sleeves and overall length shortened. That would fix the buttoning point crisis—because just about everything else is fixable except that. The pockets may be a little low etc, but both of those SC look like they have high buttoning in general—even on the stock photo.

Part of it might be the camera angle. The camera is pointing up a little bit. The RLBL definitely has a low/normal buttoning point. I'll try to get some better shots tomorrow

The RLBL is right on my natural waist with the Cantarelli probably 1/2 '' above it

Here are straight on pics of each and a second RLBL for good measure. These photos should be a little higher quality. And yes, I know I need windex.

Should I keep the top one? I paid about $350 for it, it can still go back. Already own the bottom two, I love RLBL

but they don't make as many interesting patterns as the Italian brands

If you like it, keep it. The majority of people wouldn't notice it had a high buttoning point—it's also only very slightly too high—but you may feel it doesn't fit as well as the RLBL. I love the pinstripe RLBL SC.
