Gilt City DC has a warehouse sale ... this is the 2nd or 3rd time i've seen them have one and i can only assume its like the Barney's warehouse sale but smaller and probably worse

anyone ever been? is DC the only place that has it? is it worth going to, esp for men?

whats also annoying is you have to pay to get in. 15 for 10AM ticket, then 10 from 12pm after

i guess thats good for crowd control purposes but dumb if you pay and nothing is good/worthwhile

Maybe if they would credit your $15 admission towards a purchase it would be worth it. But to pay to get in and possibly not find anything to your liking doesn't seem worth it to me (especially with the fast decline of the offerings on Gilt over the past couple years).

I just checked, and included in the ticket price is a sniff of blow.

they have a big mirror set up by the door

just one sniff, though. they're pretty strict about that

Looks like a cash grab by Gilt. Pay $10 for the "privilege" of sifting through junk stores couldn't sell and that Gilt couldn't sell on its website. I think I'll pass.

yeah figures ... haven't bought anything from gilt in like a year. anything that perks my interest is gone by the time it opens to the rest of the plebes like me. wish it was a P&B warehouse sale lol

only thing i wanted was ervell or raf and smaller sizes gone instantly :foo:

Have you forgotten? Gilt acquired the unsold treasures of Clad Men. Incotex Ivory trousers sized 46 x 28. Stacks of 'em. Colored mint. Mountains of Original Penguin and Fred Perry sport shirts. Sized XXXL. Surely the opportunity to behold, let alone to purchase from, such a finely curated collection is worth the cost of admission.

A friend had an extra ticket for this morning's warehouse sale, so I checked it out. Pickings were pretty slim in clothing. I found a Luigi Bianchi Mantova navy blue cotton sportscoat, but couldn't pull the trigger for $285. Most shoes were low to mid-range -- Gordon Rush, Maurizi, Ferragamo, Bruno Magli, etc. There was quite a bit of Barker Black, and I ended up buying the Wolfe loafer in white suede. Not sure how much wear I'll get out of it, but for $125, I was willing to give it a shot. If nothing else, I'll bring it to South Beach in December.
