1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Starting this thread to share ideas for gifts for wives, girlfriends and SO's. List anything that you have given to that special someone that was a hit.

probably the best thing I've bought to the wife was a JLC reverso and second would be a valextra bag... but in terms of appreciation in my case, an extended weekend trip I planned including dinner and lunch reservations last year was the most cherished for her.

Tank americaine went down well, but not quite as successful as €100 handbag I bought in agnes b in Paris, with which she was unexpectedly delighted. My wife also likes crafts and gardening - vintage knitting patterns and a handmade korean trowel have both been successes too. Random gifts apropos of nothing often go down better than expensive but predictable splurges for birthdays.
