I've got a pretty good friend who's having a 21st Birthday party soon with a fairly limited list of guests attending. I need to get her a present. It needn't be expensive, should not be cute and definately not romantic!

I'm a bit stuck. Any suggestions?
Tom.

Not sure what you mean by 'not cute'. What's her personality like? What is she interested in? Maybe a nice book?

Yeah I think books are nice, but it would be cool to find something a bit unique... by 'not cute' I mean like soft toys etc. or jokey presents.

What is your relationship with her? That matters a bit.

First gift I suggest is yourself.

If she's into art, a nicely framed print would be great, assuming you know her taste or her favorite works. (Don't try to frame a sculpture, though. It always ends in tragedy).

I always got perfume for my sister; there's some nice non-clothing designer licensed ones that you can get. Most women I have given Annick Goutal perfume bottles to seem to love it.

Other than that, clothing, accessories, marital aids, etc. You know the drill.

If she's a good friend then plan for a cool activity to do together, give her tickets to a dance performance or something like that.

21st, eh? How about a bottle of her favorite hard liquor and a set of shot glasses. You only turn 21 once.

He is in England, so I'm assuming this was done three years ago.

21 year old bottle of wine? A Colheita port from '85 would not set you back much.

These are excellent suggestions. Small and deluxe items are always good. What's the budget? Perhaps a small leather key or card case from Prada or a more traditional maker.

I've got to come around more to ask you for gift suggestions...
