We're headed international in 3 weeeks and I was asked to take the flight.

I've never done this before and I probably never will again. But what should I wear on the flight? Classic Polo, tucked in, chinos, and dress shoes appropriate? Or should I wear a suit so Im looking professional the moment we land?

Going to be a 6-8 hour flight.

Few senior partners from the company, our main marketing guy and the CEO.

I just dress nice and happen to make useful, and accurate decisions.

I'd wear a suit just for the hell of it. Don't know about your company.

Depends on your corporate culture. I work in a fortune 100 company and we just wear business casual...even on the jet.

What would you be wearing if you flew commercial with these guys?

I think it would depend on the occasion. When flying to a meeting I'd wear a suit, but for informal affairs, I'd wear a blazer or odd jacket sans tie. As has been said, it would also depend on your corporate culture. Nice way to travel, enjoy.

call the CEO's assistant and ask her/him what he/she typically wears on the jet. then dress similarly.

i've never traveled with our execs on the corporate jet, but i have picked them up from the executive airport when they've come to visit. since i've made it a point to be friendly with all our top people's administrative assistants, it's easy for me to call them and ask "what's he wearing today?" so i can be appropriately attired as well

I agree with the above advice about calling the CEO's assistant; the fact that you are flying private is a non-factor in your decision. Having flown on the company jet 2 weeks ago, however, I should add thooyat it is very enjoyable compared to the 3 straight weeks of commercial flights! Enjoy!
