Getting rid of Cool Web Spyware

Assuming you're running Windows XP, there is a set of three anti-spyware programs that should both remove CWS (CoolWebSearch) and prevent future infections.

Download, install, and run AdAware, Spybot, and Windows Defender (formerly Microsoft Antispy).

In addition to those tools, ditch Internet Explorer and Netscape, and install Mozilla Firefox. Granted, Netscape is based on the Mozilla engine, but Firefox is a much better program.

I had CWS earlier this year. McAfree found it and I deleted it manually.
