How do i get markings in pen off the sole of a shoe? I don't want to try anything that might damage the shoe so i am asking here.

I was incredibly surprised when I found out that shoe polish works well for this.

I had prices written on two pairs of shoes (one on the sole, one on the side of the heel) and I had resigned to leaving them there until something made me rub polish on one of them.

The solvents in kiwi must be strong because it came right off.
