The Pimms Cup is pretty good for the novice drinker. It really doesn't taste like it has booze in it...

    How about a Sidecar?
    brandy, Cointreau, lemon juice

It's a classic, so any decent bartender shuold know how to make it.
Also, it's a unisex cocktail, so you can steal a sip without fear of growing a vagina.

Wine does it for my wife. Its a different type of drunk for her, and it just makes her silly.

And yes, those tags are legendary!

Well yes, but you don't drink it straight. When mixed, it is like drinking a beer.

No coffee flavored liqueur... how about chocolate? I've never met a woman who didn't like this drink... The Rasputin:

    2 parts vodka
    1 part Frangelico
    1 part Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
1 part Light cream or whole milk

Shake and serve up in a martini glass.

I came on here to say this.

Mojito, if no one has mentioned this yet.

If you want some crazy action, just seduce her into it [IMG]

Pfft, like I don't already. That said, the morning after breakfast conversation is not nearly as much fun if she was sober the night before.

Rum swizzles are fun, especially if they remind you of Bermuda.

For the summer, standard Kirs are very good. I don't much like the Royale variety, as they seem too acidic for the purpose.
Get a good Bourgogne AligotÃ[IMG], or the dryest generic Burgundy you can find. Mix in one part Creme de Cassis to 4 or 5 of the wine. The correct color will be obvious after a few tries. Serving over ice is OK. Nice way to start a warm evening.

Of course, if you're drinking at home and therefore have some control over the inventory, you could explore wines in general. Riesling Kabinett or Spatlese from the Saar valley (green bottle) is a killer summer drink, and goes well with a lot of food.

Don't waste time with cocktails, straight Tequila is the way to go,

I second the sidecar. What about a Presbyterian (scotch, ginger ale, soda, bitters) or a Margarita?

^Sure, she might like a good margarita made with Cointreau and real lime juice. On the creamy side, maybe a Brandy Alexander?
