Getting ink stain out of tie

Hi,

I have a Borrelli tie which has acquired a small ballpen ink stain. It is not visible when worn as it is in the middle of the tie lengthwise, but I would like it removed. Is it safe to send it to a drycleaner? Thanks.

Regards,

Hmmm. Sorry to hear that. I've had about 50/50 luck with ties and dry cleaners, as sometimes they seem to do something like scrub the fabric where the spot is, which has ruined the tie/fabric. Still, sometimes a (good) dry cleaner is your only option to get a spot out of a tie.

Immediately send it to Tie Crafters in New York. Maybe call them up and find out if they would advise soaking it in an alcohol solution before sending it to them. This is too good a tie not to try to save it.
