in their about us it reads "Germanicos is the bespoke tailor of choice for thousands of people across Australia and the globe. With our network of experienced and knowledgeable tailors we can produce the perfect suit or shirt for you."

if they're asian offshore MTM wouldn't this be illegal?

Incorrect - I had a suit made there and was informed that they used to be MTM but not anymore, all is done in Melbourne and fully bespoke - I was very happy with my suit, the quality is exceptional - ive never had a 4k one made but I cant imagine the quality would be that much better.

Then that is a recent change, as they used to clearly state on their website their offshore origins.

Hmmm They did say they had some 'quality control' issues with sending it o/s - no surprise there. Look they may have been telling me porkies, I certainly hope not!

Anything is possible. I've had no recent dealings with them, so I don't know. It's certainly possible they've changed the way they do their business in recent times. Have to give them the benefit of the doubt without any current information to the contrary. Thanks for chipping in on the subject.

I went to chat with them back in 2009 and they said that it was made in Portugal, however for an additional fee it could be made in Melbourne. This gave you the benefit of an initial fitting before they finally stitched the garment together.

Sounds good. Sounds like they've made several changes in their business practices over the years. Fair enough, one has to adapt after all.

I live in Perth & want to buy my first ever suit & was genuinely considering purchasing from germanicos.
They have the bronze, silver & gold package.
If someone like myself who rarely has a need for a suit, what should I go for & what quality difference is there with the three???

Hey Shane I bought a silver suit back in March from Germanicos and had a great experience. Good blokes to work with enjoyable experience, It wears great and the fabric was navy Italian 120's wool, best suit I've had by far. The difference when you go to gold or platinum is in the quality of fabric only, something like the difference between Toyota and Mercedes ;)

Don't Know which city you're in "The Wraith" But there are hardly any bespoke tailors in Perth. you may find some made to measure, but no bespoke...

Nothing wrong with n that, it merely suggests (whether true or otherwise is for your decision ) that they have many customers in Australia.

I have never heard of them here - IU would suggest that this is just another Asian sweatshop with indifferent quality and a pot luck approach to delivering garments that actually fit.
