To replace some very old Pumas, I've decided to get some GATs. I originally wanted the new Adidas model but they seem to only have been released in Europe and I can't find any in my size. So I'm planning to get the original BW ones from militariaworld_ltd_bh.
I'm on the fence about sizing, though, and would be grateful for some help. I'm
10C or 9.5D in Alden's Hampton and Van lasts,
10 or 10.5 in sneakers (Vans, Asics, Nike), depending on if I wear them with thin or thick socks.
This seems to translate to 275 or 280 and I was about to get 275, since I think I'd wear these in the summer with thin socks. But then I saw that my Asics running shoes say 28cm/10US/44EU. They fit great w/ thin socks, so now I'm thinking 280s might be better. What do you guys say? 275 or 280? Thanks.
If you have very wide feet and are a 10 in Adidas Stan Smiths but 42 in Common Projects, Dior and Gucci, what would your size in MMMs and original GATs be?FWIW I am a 9 in chucks, 42 in CP Achilles lows, and a 43 in MMM low GATs and the 280s were slightly too big so I'm going to sell them and I just bought some 275s
How do the GATs compare to non-premium sneakers like normal Adidas Sambas, or normal running shoes?Breaking in a pair I got on eBay from Germany for about $40. The tag says Miltec. Don't know if there are many different makers or not. Def look like all the others I've seen. Material quality is def way lower than my more premium sneakers. Buy GATs for $40. Worth it just to experiment.
So far they've been very TTS and comfy enough out of the box. Terrible support for running unless you know propper form and don't really need supportive running shoes. Probably will use these in the gym only for now, and on non-cardio days.
