That's exactly what I said earlier. Bontoni did one and I fucking loved it but couldn't spend $1400 on a casual shoe for spring summer

No worries, you didn't shoot me down. :) I appreciated the response.

I was indeed asking if the shoe in the pic was on the Simpson last. I like that shoe in your pic a lot and may jump in if an MTO gets some steam. I generally prefer the Simpson last but now that the Rain comes in a narrow last I think either will work fine.

    Steve,

Is there any way to get the leather soles for those who want leather soles and brick red Dainites for those who prefer that option on the MTO? Also, forgive me ignorance, but what is a JR double leather sole? Never heard of that before.

    Thanks!

Good news! It looks like all the Mto participants (except for one) is favoring the brick red Dainite! If you are in with brick red Dainite we have our 6!

Not a ignorance at all! JR is the name of a high quality oak bark tanned leather sole manufacturer :)

loden suede plain toe with brick dainite is happening!!

Yes sir! I got you down on this one ;)

Wow! I casually threw out an idea of a red Dainite sole and 24 hours later it looks like it is happening! I am very tempted by this. I do have a loden suede chukka on crepe sole, I am just worried that these would be too similar...hhhhmmm......

The Loden PTB with brick Dainite group MTO is on the Forest last and available in a wide fitting - is that right? Delivery expected when?

Steve, could you confirm the availability of a wide fitting on the Forest last and indicate when you expect delivery?

Thanks Steve. Hmmm, EEE sounds mighty wide - are the width choices standard an EEE, or is there anything in the middle? Forest is a tricky last for me. It's just a bit too narrow in standard width in a UK 8.5 - but I'm a bit worried about sizing up in a shoe (as opposed to a boot) in case the increased length results in heel slip.

It's just a tad bit wider than standard Forest.
I was under the impression that the Forest is E but Tony explained to me that Forest is actually EE Standard and EEE is extra width option!

Rather than sizing up half to 9, I think you will do well in 8.5 EEE.

^^^ Okay, great - that sounds terrific (though I will pause to observe the oddity of branding a standard width Forest as a EE! [IMG]).

I think you are right that an 8.5 EEE will be the better way to go.

    Count me in, please. [IMG]
