Guys there is a single dainite soles and double dainite soles. Maybe those of you who find dainite clunky were looking at double dainite soles. Single dainite soles especially those from Carmina are not that much different from single leather soles.

I am not on this GMTO, just giving you my opinion.

The original photo I used for the Burgundy Museum mock-up was on the Tomir hybrid sole, which is about the same as single Dainite IIRC. My vote was for leather sole, but, after reading some of the arguments, I'm ok with single Dainite. I'm just pleased that my rudimentary photo editing skills helped this GMTO happen.

Having said all that, if there is a Dainite rebellion that wants to break off and get 6 people together for leather, count me in.

I hope that the leather fans can form a group of 6 - these boots will be killer and I'd be happy to see both "sides" get their choice.

Maybe I am late to the party. But I like last one too lol.

I want to expend my shoes territory into Carmina now.
Can anyone educate me size comparison between Carmina lasts?
I wear 6.5D in Alden Barrie and 7D in AE 5 last.

    Thanks in advance.

    AE (5): US8,5D
Carmina (Inca, Rain) UK7,5 (standard width)
    Carmina (Simpson): UK8 (standard width)

Although, Simpson is not the best fit for my feet.
    Hope that helps.

    - Leather is beautiful.

    - Boots are for life.

    - If I never see another superfluous "hash" sign, it will be too soon.

I prefer the broguing. I like that it's on the toe and heal but not the eyelet tabs. If there were momentum toward an austerity version I'd probably join though.

I have never seen a well worm leather sole - scuffed and embedded with unknown crud and detritus - that I would describe as "beautiful". Out of the box - sure. But that's over real quick. To each his own, though. [IMG]

I attended a wedding this summer and had need of the washroom. As it too often the case with men's public washrooms, it was pretty disgusting. Without being too graphic, I exited thinking that if my soles were leather, I would burn the shoes.

In regards to the Burgundy Museum U-Wing boot. There are enough on board for a Dainite run (7, I believe), and 3, including myself, who want leather. Are there 3 more brave souls among you, (or 1 brave sole among the Dainite camp[IMG]) who will join in a squeak-less stroll on smooth surfaces?
