Hi,
Upfront notice: I'm female.
My significant other is a good looking guy who is stuck in the 1980s-grad school look. As a result, he looks at least 10 years older than he is. He complains about how old he photographs.
What is a gentle, polite way of persuading him to trim the mustache and the John L. Lewis eyebrows?
Thanks for all advice.

I always trim by beard when my gf says that my beard tickles her when I kiss her. If I want some, I had better shave.

Buy him a beard trimmer for his B-day, Christmas or something. I got one for Christmas and love it.

cut him off until he obeys. Hell, I grew a goatee 5 years ago b/c of my now wife liking it. I feel like shaving, but she says it would not be attractive. 'nuff said.

Have you tried simply asking? Usually, what a woman asks, men do. If he starts to think for himself, refer him (read: ask) to this website.

You might try to raise his conciousness by coming at it from an angle. I used to shave with electric razors for many years until I came across this set of videos on YouTube. They were instructional

and entertaining

too. Now I wet shave with "traditional" creams and a brush and my wife loves my smoother face to boot!

Thank you, all. Lots of good ideas here.
It never occured to me that this would be something guys would do without feeling attacked or belittled.
Thanks much.
