a tailor i have used
in napoli for several
years is
gennaro paone
the head tailor
of london house/rubinacci

i have never
poasted completed
pix of my jackets
since i did not
want any sharp eyes
to recognise telltale
fingerprints of his
work
although some
of teh fitting pix
do give away
his work.

here are some photos
of my fittings with him
(except of course
the one with panico)
and below are
some unedited pix

Thanks for the post, @T4phage.

So, who in the Bay Area might be interested in commissioning something?

Woah. Big news.

D: There's a good chance I'd go for a sport coat.

T: "Unedited pix"? So you're the Headless Clotheshorse?

I'm in NYC intermittently on business, and would be very interested. Can someone speak to prices?

@T4phage can correct me, but I believe prices are still being set. However, they're looking at about $3,700 for a suit. Gennaro still has to figure out travel costs to be sure. Obviously, sport coats will be less.

Ballpark, however, this seems like in the range of other traveling tailors that are popular on this forum.

Thanks, dieworkwear - that sounds very fair. Hopefully, they're amenable to CMT as well.

That's big news, indeed. Gennaro was my cutter at LH. Obviously, I think very highly of him.

Does this mean you and Steed are breaking up, or are you a one man stimulus package?

I still plan on using Steed. Some fabrics look better in some cuts than others, IMO, so it's nice to have different tailors.

That looks nice, C&A. Is this your first jacket from him? I like shaping of the shoulders and chest. The shoulders look slightly extended. Are they?

Thanks, T4phage.

I'm hosting Gennaro and Andrea for a trunk show in Hong Kong from November 21-23, 2014 at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental. Please feel free to PM me for more details.

One of the reputed strengths of London House (I have no first hand experience) is the technical skill of the tailors and finishers. I have heard they make a point of having the best pay scale in Naples. Will Genarro have access to the same quality of workers? Is it like Savile Row in that their is an ecosystem of outworkers/subcontractors that the cutters can send work to or will Genarro have his own staff?

Must be nice. What fabrics do Steed excel in working with in terms of styling and fit? And what fabric will you use for Genaro?
