Thanks, they were Magura rim brakes, quite common amongst trials bikes.

I got a lower end hybrid trek bike a few weeks ago and love it. I biked to the gym in Manhattan Saturday, biked from the middle of Queens to Park Slope on Sunday, then to Williamsburg, and I commuted to work for the first time on Tuesday when it was 90 degrees, and enjoyed it, aside from being nervous about it outside all day. Here it is locked up in front of my office:

My jeans are already starting to get a bit tighter around the thighs, and I love the feeling of accomplishment after getting more aggressive and confident on the NYC streets!

Not trying to start anything but...what use do you have for a full suspension Yeti in NY/DC?

They are really popular here in Colorado, and one of my favorite bikes. I am just surprised to see one so far from home.

There are trails/parks all over that have terrain ranging from DH to pretty technical XC and in fact almost all the people I ride with have full suspension bikes. I came from more of a BMX/Dirt Jumping background and really liked the riding position when I demo'd the Yeti.

It's only 140 in the front and 5.75 in the back so not too much travel, and it still climbs really well. I got it to be a really good do a little bit of everthing bike (since I can't afford a quiver) and I've been very happy with it so far.

awww... +1 on the 575s. I just got my new frame in team colors last month and I'm having it built hopefully within this month. so technically i'm also part of the 'tribe'.

That would really amuse me, but it's not him. The guy I'm thinking of lives in NY and has the wrong color hair.

There's a certain similarity in online persona.

you have to be more specific on what kind of bike you want, or what kind of biking you want to do.

You ain't going to get much for $400; I just paid that much for a fork alone.

If I have money, it'd be a Ruegamer with Sram Red. My neighbor has one built last year with super record 11. Unfortunately, his "bespoke" geometry is not quite right so he may get another one for better fit. Some people have no problems burning cash.
