And that's all unsprung weight so way more impactful than say, lighter seat and handlebars.
*Rotating weight

Everything on a road bike is unsprung...

But there's also a compelling argument that rotating weight isn't that important compared to total weight/bearings and aero benefits

Need spreadsheet and at least one graph or this is not true.

Also, the improved wheelset meets your new criteria.

Which, in the real world, rotating or static, 2.0 pounds "saved" on an average-fitness 240/245 pound kitted recreational rider + bicycle (the numbers from recent posts here) = ~0.80% of the total package weight. Not even 1%.

Other aspects of the components may (marginally) positively influence performance or more likely affect the perception of better performance, but such minimal weight "savings" isn't even remotely influential as any real factor.

@Fueco That's a stunner.

Are the pedals the same as egg beaters but with a platform? Always liked the Crank Bros. design.

Yes. The Candy series are basically Eggbeaters with a small platform. I actually have Eggbeaters on my mountain bike.

I’m pretty much set on Crank Brothers pedals, but thanks for the offer.
The Candys are really great pedals too. Hopefully they won't go the way of Speedplay post-Wahoo. What a fiasco. CB and Selle Royal together definitely feel much more stable currently.

I am under no illusion that lighter kit's making me faster. I just choose to spend on the things I enjoy.

The 20-ish year old girl at the LBS commented, "you doing any racing with these super fast wheels?" :-D

I am the definition of a MAMIL in her eyes and have no qualms about it.

So true work story: a current patient is 66 year old woman with a broken hip, and she's now status post-ORIF. How did she break her hip? Her e-bike's battery ran out while she was going up a hill, the bike literally started rolling backwards, tipped over and she broke her hip in the fall.

Now that it’s warming up the gravel bike path is filled with e-bikes. For the most part they are like every other cyclist but with slightly less situational awareness and more headphones.

Do regular bike shops sell and service them? They are so busy now I can't imagine taking on influx of a new class of bike. When I picked up my wheels there was a woman complaining that they couldn’t service her road bike while she waited. First available appointment was almost 3 weeks out.
