Tell me this isn’t the cutest little grease gun you’ve ever seen

Is it just a Dualco grease gun that has been painted yeti turquoise and some rebranded grease? Yes.

Was it worth paying like $5 extra? Also yes.

My wife just sent me this pic. Any recommendations for a not too crazy expensive gravel bike?

You need to give us a ceiling here, bud. Are you looking for a good, functional bicycle or a StyFo Middle Class bicycle?

Giant Revolt and Trek Checkpoint are both solid options, and they offer good choices at a lot of price points. You’re pretty handy with the bike tools, no? You could also build up a frame set for her and expand your options.

@Fueco you should also look at the Otso Waheela C. My neighbor has this bike, and I borrowed it last year for a bit. Really nice. On sale for $3400 right now.

She doesn’t want to spend “thousands of dollars”, but she’s a a solid cyclist (RAAM finisher and all), and I suspect a bad frame would limit her and cause frustration.

A bike in the $1500-$2000+ range with a good frame set that can be upgraded would probably hit that sweet spot. And yes, I can do a large portion of working on the bike myself. Heck, I changed the chain on my cyclocross rig this morning.

I think she needs to accept that bikes are just more expensive than that these days. Even on Pro’s Closet and Buycycle you won’t find many good used options in that range.

Sell her on the amortized cost of a new bike. :)

The newest adult bike in the house is from 2014, so I hear you. I don’t think she should settle either. *

* This will also help me justify a new bike in the near future.

I’ve drunk a full serving of Kool Aid on the Specialized Crux.

How about the Crux Comp? $4k list but I thought it was on sale for $3xxx

@Fueco check out the Canyon Grizl, currently on sale. They have aluminum options in your price range, but the carbon Grizls start around $2600. IMO, Canyon is one of the best bangs for your buck. And, many of the sponsored racers use the Grizl rather than the Grail.

Those do look pretty good. We have a friend who is partially sponsored and rides a Canyon road bike. Maybe I’ll ping her and ask about her experience with them.

I just finished getting her road bike ready to go. She might check out some bikes in the next few days, but seems to be leaning towards mountain bike. I tried. 😜

Also, checking out what’s up on Facebook Marketplace is bad… We were sitting on the couch watching the Olympics, and every few few minutes I’m going, “Ooh, a Slingshot!” or “Hey, can I get this early 2000s Dean Colonel?”
