Let me know what shop this is if they have a 20' row of bikes in stock and not on back-order
Go in there and pull a Pee Wee, "accidentally" knock over a 20ft row of bikes
razor scooters...

Thought I'd put the rubber on and inflate. @patrick_b did you use a pump or air compressor? I've got a good pump, toggle between high volume/high pressure, but could not get it to inflate enough to seat the bead.

It took me several tries with the pump but it does work. You have to pump so much faster than you think and it looks like there’s no way it’ll even hold air but after 6-7 hard strokes you’ll see it start to fill and hear the telltale pings that it is seating.
I have a very old Joe Blow pump that really shouldn’t work but it does. If you have a modern pump it should work.

You might have to futz with it a bit to get it to seat...wiggle it around/bounce it. That's where the compressor is a little nice because you only need 1 hand.

Removing the valve core can also help make it easier to flow air in and you can pour your sealant in before and roll the flat tire around so the sealant starts to help it stick.

Actually, I'd add the sealant first anyways...easier than removing the core and injecting it in.

This morning I tried the back tire and inflated no probs with the hand pump. I thought I had it figured out, went to try the front tire again, and still could not get it to fill. Why? There's an actual fucking hole in the rim sidewall and the air is coming out of it! I had assumed it was part of the manufacturing process, it sits directly opposite the valve stem, and a similar indent is on the rear tire but apparently it doesn't go all the way through. Now I'm wondering when that is going to break through and leak out?

Is a small hole normal in CF rims from manufacturing? Can I somehow overcome this or do I need to return? I'll probably just run with the OEM hoops if I return as fuck this nonsense.

If they’re meant to be tubeless ready, that’s clearly a defect. Regardless, I would contact the shop that sold you the wherls and ask.

The hole seems weird, but are you supposed to use rim tape? Seems like the hole wouldn't matter once it is taped.

Some rims come taped from the factory, but others you have to do yourself.

One of the Zipp's deals is it comes from the factory with rim tape in place. Think maybe the tape was not applied properly?

Not a defect; it's a drainage hole. Suggested I try with a compressor, and if that fails, examine the rim tape.
