Gekko vs Bateman

I voted Bateman, but we all know how I feel about Gekko. It's been a few years since I last saw American Psycho, but wasn't Bateman's style fairly bland? Say what you will about Gekko but at least it was distinctive. Bateman also didn't feel 80s enough. I think he could've easily fit in in the 90s.

And Koji, I still haven't heard from you about what you did the day Weston had the sale. I know that a DMA is certainly a chick magnet, but missing a shoe sale, well, she'd better be worth it.

Paul Allen has mistaken me for this dickhead Gordon Gekko. It seems logical because Gordon also works at P&P and in fact does the same exact thing I do. He also has a penchant for Valentino suits and Oliver Peoples glasses. Gordon and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut

At first glance, I thought the thread title read "Gekko vs Batman". Hmm. Upon further reflection, I'm still going to go with Batman.

Well, Christian Bale played (or will be playing) both.

I voted for Bateman.  Gordon Gekko could ruin me financially.  Bateman might hit me in the face with an ax.  I figure I can always make more money, so why insult the homicidal maniac?

As an aside, I always loved the above referenced quote from AP regarding "Genesis."  As a true old school Genesis fan (I think there are 5 or 6 of us), Bateman's description of the band is exactly the reason why the old school fans became so frustrated with them, but why the newer fans flocked to them in droves.  Once Phil Collins took over, Genesis started selling out stadiums.  I realize that this fits into the context of the novel, as Ellis was satirizing how ridiculously vapid and superficial (in his mind) the 1980's were.

Bateman without a doubt - he was much more elegant. Gekko dressed well but his style of dressing was a little too "power" and overstated for me.

Some of you may remember that I changed my avatar from Gekko to Bateman a while back - hence my answer.
