Cops: Man posed as officer, flashed 'Geek Squad' badge to force sex

By ROB JENNINGS "¢ STAFF WRITER "¢ June 20, 2009

A 25-year-old Newark man was arrested Thursday after allegedly using his "Geek Squad" employee badge to impersonate a State Police officer and allegedly coerce a woman into sexual acts, Parsippany police said Friday.

The incident unfolded at 5:35 p.m. Thursday at the Days Inn on Route 46, Officer Earl Kinsey said.

The alleged victim told police that she had agreed to meet the suspect "” Jay Mora, 25, of Newark "” at the hotel to "engage in a sex-for-money transaction," according to the police report.

While in a room together, Mora allegedly passed off his Geek Squad ID as a State Police badge and told the woman he would release her without arrest if she agreed to ******** with him, police said. After they engaged in sexual acts, the suspect allegedly refused to leave the room, police said.

The victim contacted a relative on her cell phone, who then contacted police.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the victim pointed out the suspect, police said.

Mora was arrested and charged with sexual assault and impersonating a police officer, police said. He was being held in the county jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
While I think there should be some legal/social considerations for sex work, should people doing illegal acts be expected the protection of the law if it goes wrong for them? I kind of equate this to calling the cops on my dealer because he cut too much aspirin in my ****.

Kinda a matter of degrees, innit? I get stabbed in the face while double-parked... my attacker shouldn't get off the hook.

Point taken.

Did you get stabbed in the face for being a habitual double parker?

Ed, you know, you really are one of the best posters on this forum. Are you as funny in real life?

This guy is either very stupid or had big balls.

And what kind of dumbshit mistakes a Geek Squad ID for a police badge?
