Folks,

Bought a pair of Gaziano Girling shoes that say 8D UK on the box. Tried them on and noticed one was a little tight. Looked inside the tongue and the label reads 8D. The other shoe however reads 8ED (which fits fine). These are a pair of Rothschild on the GG06 last. I have several pairs of EG 202 which fit fine in an 8D so I am a bit confused as to why the GG is tight. Others have said the sizing is similar. Any ideas as to why the label reads 8ED on one and 8D on the other?

I've emailed Dean as well.

THanks

Can your feet be different sizes - what did Dean say in your meeting?

Sounds like the D is a D and the E is an E.

It's probably best if you wait and get accurate information from G&G.

My own two cents:

I do recall speaking to Mr. Girling about the fit of G&G vs. Edward Green.

First off, he said E width is "standard" or "medium". D width would be then be slightly narrower than standard.

He also said that G&G lasts fit very similar to the Edward Green 888 last. Personal experience has shown me that the EG 202 last is definitely wider and in general fuller than the 888 last. So you may not take the same width in 202 last vs. 888 last vs. G&G. It really depends on the shape of your feet. Different people have feet that are wider in certain places, hence the advantage of there being different shoe lasts.

With regard to ED, I have never heard of that.
