A high arch and high instep is a nightmare.
+1. If you have a high arch, does that automatically mean you have a high instep?
It usually does:

Yeah, instep is always an issue for me. I have to size up 1/2 on practically everything for a decent fit, which isn't great because it doesn't give my arch enough support. A high arch and high instep is a nightmare.

custom made/bespoke and bluchers are your friends then...
I have the same problem compounded by having to wear custom orthotics to keep the arch in place - at least we don't get bored being able to just buy shoes like normal people.
Figures you would say this! I have actually never worn bluchers and probably never will. I don't care for the look of them.
If it appears I have a normal arch (maybe tiny bit higher) so I would assume then by this that I have a normal instep. However most RTW shoes usually hurt at instep but not above ball. Can I conclude then that RTW shoes have barely normal or less than normal instep height?
Damn you're really missing out. Budapesters, Split-toes derbys, Chukkas, Country shoes and Boots, sneakers, running shoes?????
...but I don't like the way they look with my style.

Finally had a chance to view the Deco range yesterday, they are very nice. The finishing is certainly a level up from the standard range and on par with the bespoke shoes. They are not as sharp as you would think, certainly wearable. I did not order a pair though alas, I opted for a bespoke Brogue instead.
I understand Luk-cha took our beloved shoemaking pair for a scenic walking tour of Hong Kong island at 4.30am in the morning.
