If I order a pair of g&g from their website and have them shipped to me in the US, will I get an import tax bill?
I’ve had in the past as they’ve been >$800.

Ok, so they don't state a lower price on the invoice to avoid this? and what's the percentage that you paid?
If the carrier rates them correctly the duty should be 5% of the total price for the shoes. so on a pair of st james you are looking at around $52 in import tax. Then the carrier will charge you their extra BS "clearance" fees

Yes I agree. But I think they put a lot of pride and expertise in all the shoes they make. Furthermore, I understand this leather is not easy to work with. I am going to use them in any kind of hard rock condition. Not for formal wear at all.

Totally agree, and I use my kudu leather casually for the weekend or travel. With jeans, chino & tweeds.
