Question: TG73 vs Deco, is there a difference in size? I am a 11UK in the TG73 but 10.5UK in almost every other maker (Vass, CU, etc). Anybody would like to chime in?

When I asked for the purposes of an MTO I was told the same size for all.

I would say that it may be a little bit narrower than the other lasts. Regarding instep I don't see much difference. In the end I take the same size in dg70, tg73, mh71 and deco.

I would agree here that mine felt a little narrower than my other shoes but still would not change sizes. I actually feel the instep on the DG70 may actually be a tad lower than the MH71 but I don't know if that's a function of DG70 being more standard and MH higher or vice versa.

I also take the same size in every last. But ... I size depending on the model - I've found that that's what requires testing and tweaking on the size, moreso than the last, because the different models have different ways of wrapping around the foot, whether it's via laces (oxfords/derbies), buckles and straps (monkstraps/jodhpurs), or just plain leather (loafers/chelseas).

Yeah, it's often overlooked that the model can have as much, if not more, influence on fit than the last. Monkstraps and chelseas scare the **** out of me because they don't have the forgiveness of laceups - you can ask the gents at Savile Row how long and tortuous my journey from oxfords to even loafers has been lol

Thank you, I was considering a chelsea, but you are right, the fit has to be dialed in with that, so it is probably better I don't blindly pull the trigger, since these would be my first G&G.

It’s always better to try them on in person if you can. That said, I caveat that my own tortured experience with chelseas is solely down to my very high insteps. Laceups are always easier to fit for me (although they can have the unsightly V when they don’t close properly). Chelseas obviously can’t create a gap in that area, which is why I’ve found them to be so unforgiving in fit - but that’s across the board, not just GG. So if you don’t have that particular with fit issue other chelsea boot makers, you might be OK. But there is no substitute for trying them on first if you can.

I actually find that my two Burnham pairs are my best fitting Gaziano & Girlings. Vintage Oak today, I'll get a jump start on boot weather now...

Fully agree with all the above comments re. type of shoe (and also leather or suede) making a difference, but for what it's worth, I really struggle with the DG70.

Specifically the width across the toe box.

I'm fine in Deco and TG73 (same size in both) and have a number of models, so I reasonably conclude that DG70 just doesn't work for me.
