Too busy, IMO - I think the round toe on the example above softens the whole look, but only barely. My reservation would be that the TG73, which is already the most aggressive non-deco last GG makes, would just be too much. But I've been wrong many many times before when trying to visualise the final result, and you might be onto a winner. Best advice would be go with your gut - if you want a medallion, then go get a damn medallion and screw haters like me .St. James II with a medallion: yay or nay?
Have a SJII in vintage cherry, so thinking about a MTO in a lighter pine/chestnut with medallion to make it distinct. Wondering if a medallion would work or if it makes a classic design look too busy. Would get it on the TG73.

Got it. Well if you like a full brogue, something else to consider might be a different version like the Kensington or Burlington? They're similar to the St James, but don't have the adelaide facings - and the Kensington has the medallion:Thanks. My only reason for the medallion is because I was concerned two SJII on the same last night look repetitive since I have a 6 shoe rotation.
