Looking at doing an MTO for a Thorpe and wondering if these is a GG last that has similar toe and front foot room as say a C&J 325 last or Carmina Oscar? Thanks for any insight!

Glad fall is here so I can start wearing boots again. One of my favorite makeups -- Vintage kudu Thorpes, one of the last GMTOs for G&G through Skoak.

When I put my order in for my loafers they asked me if I wanted to do a “high shine” finish. Anyone have this done?

This might be a silly question: do G&G shoes come with burnishing, or do you need to do a custom patina to have noticeable burnishing? I've been collecting some Meccariellos, and he does a masterful job with the patina of every pair.

That's about as much as you get, or about as much as you need based on my personal preference. See how the toe is much darker and the heel too. The actual shoes will look very close to that.

You get a little burnishing, but on the RTW, not sure if this is done the way you hope for...think you may want a professional job if you are after that classic look.

In my experience you don’t normally get a lot of burnishing as standard - some, particularly on shades like vintage oak, chestnut, cherry and rioja. Other colours like navy and espresso, practically none. But on MTOs you can of course ask, but if you want Meccariello-level burnishing you really need a patina service - GG can do it in-house, or you can get them done by a third party.

Need some sizing advice. Most of the shoes I have are Meccariello (and a few are TLB). Should I just order the same GG size as my Meccariello size or are GG half a size up or down?
