GG06 is the round toe. DG70 is fantastic as well. Ive had both, but prefer the slightly pointier DG70.

Doesn't some of this depend on the style of shoe? In Medtech's fairly recent group shot (http://www.styleforum.net/t/236162/...on-shoo-Appreciation-theard/1155#post_4837757) the one that leapt out at me was the plain old black Oxford and I've been trying to work out what gave it that something extra to my eyes; one thing that I came up with is that, to my eyes at least, the DG70 last suits the Oxford style so well.

My default choice tends to be the TG73 but, on the basis of some stuff that I've seen here, I would definitely be tempted to use a DG70 for an Oxford (which might well be my next commission, although in a light colour for summer use).

Ultimately it's all personal opinion and sometimes it's really hard to explain objectively why one style does it for a particular person and another doesn't.

Personally I like medallions on shoes that otherwise have nothing on them (e.g. whole cuts) or one's that are very simple. But as the Astaire is quite complex in itself, I prefer the plain toe. But as I have gathered from your shoes, you quite like medallions...

Time is not always a luxury that I have....Plus, the uppers are not always readily available to me. On my last pair (the Rothschilds), the upper was just a reject that was lying around the factory and happened to be my size so Tony so kindly let me use it to make a pair with. But don't you worry, I have another shoe that I will be making soon, similar to the Astaire (as far as aesthetics go) but different in materials used and design pattern....I am quite excited for it....

Really more like good acquaintances. Wanted to do bespoke making underneath them when I first arrived to England, but after I decided to go down the RTW route, we just kept in contact and they help me out when they can with advice, materials and all. I am also pretty good friends with one of their makers, so on occasion I pop up to the factory over the weekend, when the wife is away and grind out a pair of shoes with him. Sometimes I help out with MTO clients, but I can't really say that I work for them, not as in a employee type of way. We just help each other out when we can, as a mutual benefit-type relationship.

yea i do like medallions but on my pending pairs they are both sans medallions

i just feel brogued wing tips need a medalion better balance to the design
