G&G takes a notoriously long time to get MTO shoes. I honestly think it is because of the high demand. When you place an order you are at the end of a long line. Deco is no different really. The only thing different between the Deco and their normal range is more selective materials, hand lasting and more finishing. Basically for the Deco the only thing different is the last, style and amount of finishing. When I was at the Leffot trunk show they were quoting people 6 month wait. To get my MTO, which was barely a MTO mind you, they took 7 months.

Thanks Patrick. Being at the end of a very long line when first placing an order was my impression as well.

For me it matters since I am starting cautiously and planning multiple consecutive smaller orders while I ensure that the tweaks to my fit are accurate (within the confines of the possible MTO modifications); I'm not brave enough to do what medtech_expat did and order 8 pairs in one shot. If the wait time is running well above 5 months then I don't want to lose a month or two breaking in a new pair to convince myself that I am happy with the fit before placing my second order at the end of that long line. I would discuss it with Dean first but what I would prefer to do is place my next order immediately on receipt of my first order on the basis that, if something troubling emerged with the fit on my first pair fairly soon after placing my order, we could tweak the specification for the next order while it is in the queue.

Says the man doing the dealing. You're the one putting on the show. We all covet the sleek lasts of your bespoke G&Gs. Some might call it: G-ness envy. :rimshot:
