If you want a good hotel in London you would have to pay through your nose and we are not talking the normal 500usd a night that gets you nothing there more like £600 lol I like renaissance st pancras if they have good deals. The rest r quite dated.

+1. I always travel with the lasted shoe trees that I order with each shoe. My shoes take a beating when I travel and I like to get the lasted trees into then ASAP at the end of the day. Always travel with 2 pairs minimum and rest shoes one day before wearing them again. At a minimum you could buy plastic travel shoe trees if weight is an issue. They are better than no trees option.

Does G&G offer hallowed shoe trees at all? Haven't seen any posted and its a shame. Hallowed shoe trees are so much nicer both functionally and aesthetically.

+1. For short trips I usually wear loafers to the airport and pack a pair of oxfords in the carry on luggage. And have them share one pair of trees.

+1000. We all spend a not insignificant amount of money on shoes, and the extra weight (hopefully, no excess luggage charges) are a necessary evil in order to ensure that they last as long as possible.

I usually bring two pairs of shoes for my two-night trips, and three pairs for week-long ones. I always bring the proper trees for the shoes. I know that this is a G&G thread, but the best trees are those provided by St. Crispins - they're lasted, and hollowed out so that they are light when compared with other makers' shoe trees. As a result, my SCs see a lot more of the world than their cousins.

You mean "hollow". Then again, given the veneration for G&G and posh shoes in general among SF-ers, maybe you meant what you said [IMG]

I wear one pair, pack two pairs. The pair in the suitcase that does not have trees in it is stuffed full of underwear and socks.
