As far as I remember I asked this question of either Tony or Dean (I think Tony), and the response was that they use cordovan because they didn't have a supplier whose stock they felt was good enough. This could have changed though, or I could be entirely wrong. It's been a while since this conversation was had.

Edit: Apparently I am wrong, and should be ignored in this matter.

Have anyone had a Wesbury made with the MH71 last?? Would love to see how mutch smoother it will be then the TG73.

Just put them on for the first time tonight, great shoes, however extremely stiff and feels like they'll need a long break in time.

Personally I would lace the shoes with a straight lace pattern using a flat lace to preserve and present the suede facing, but that's just me.


yes to the straight lacing. imo, flat laces are to hobnailed.

I have 2 pairs from RLPL by G&G besides these....one black loafer that I believe is the monaco, as well as a black cap toe lace up with medallion.
