Hello Gentlemen,
At the risk of having an army of G&G enthusiasts jump down my throat, I'm going to post an unfavorable review. In terms of styling G&G are obviously beautiful shoes. I bought 2 pairs of TG73, the classic cherry St James II, and the other a Grant, in black. Both are fine looking shoes.
However, they are generally uncomfortable and took a month of regular wear to break in. The sizing was fine and the fit was appropriate, but they were just less comfortable to wear than JLs, EGs, or Norwegian-welted Sutors.
Then one day, I was taking off my Grants, and this happened:
Ok...this is only one shoe and is not necessarily representative of G&Gs construction quality, but it was the last straw. It was a relatively easy fix and I still wear my Grants regularly. They are quite durable otherwise, and still look great.
But there are plenty of other quality shoe-makers to choose from, so I suppose I won't be making any more G&G purchases in the future.
Best Regards,
