Actually mine was for the Oak Kudu version which originally wasn't due until this mid March. Other than a couple of pairs that were only late by about a month the only order which I had to wait an extra long time for was a pair of EG Falkirks which took three remakes and about 10 months. So I've been pretty lucky actually.

I'm cheap... I'd just get the natural wood and lacquer it myself.

I'm just real happy after passing on the first batch I got a second chance with the Oak Kudus. The first time I passed because it was only a month after ordering my first pair of Thorpes in Arran Grain. I think I regretted that ever since. Ah well, sometimes you get lucky.

I hear you, and that's one I'm extremely glad I decided to get.

Ishams in Kudu should be here soon.

Was at the alterations tailor several days ago to pick up a tux shirt I was having taken in. Guy (customer) compliments my shoes and asks what they are. No one in Dallas has ever heard of G&G since no retailers here stock them. But I tell him that they're made in England by G&G and he says, "I thought so. Are they the St. James on the MH-71 last?"

Me: "um...as a matter of fact, I think they might be." I didn't recall exactly since I bought them a few years ago and couldn't exactly remember.

He got away before I could ask his name, but he had to be an SF dude, right?

Just looked back, we were both wrong. They were Westminsters on the TG73 last. Not that it matters. It's still a good story.

    A question...

I'm thinking about getting the Tavistock, the jodhpur boot.
Does anyone have one, or has actually seen it?

    Thanks.
