There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'll look into that, but unless they offer wide (or in my case extra wide) sizes, MTO is my only option :(

Shipping is free, though pretty sure you will get hit with custom, how much is custom?

Depends what the label the cost of the items when shipping and what the purpose of the item is...

If they label it at true cost and purpose you may get hit.

If they label it is an advertising piece or something and cheap price like $50 you won't get hit...and yes, many companies do this...from all over the world

And I am sure leatherfoot will label it at true value..., they're "real" company after all...

I hate using quotation marks around single words so I won't.

I know of two real companies that mark down the value to avoid duty and ask for the same to be done if the customer returns an item.

Just saying it's out there ...

That was the amount someone reported back in May 2012, before the price hike, and not including shipping. Bengal-stripe also iterated that a bespoke refurb will cost more than 500 GBP.

I got pretty good at managing how you would report the value of a watch for import customs minimization, in a fairly legitimate way (not under reporting) and guess I need to educate myself on duty for shoes...

    i can understand 500GBP for a bespoke re-sole...

i cannot understand $500US for a RTW re-sole...I don't care how much that RTW cost.

The fact that we can't get even one GMTO off the ground to take advantage of Gaziano & Girling's current MTO pricing structure before it ends does not auger well for it's return. It's probably why he let it die. Simply not enough consensus.

I had B Nelson resole my John Lobb RTW because Lobb wouldn't take it back for resole. The resole is fine, but not channeled. If you want your resole to be channeled and to keep the beveled waist, you should send it back to G&G.

What kind of sole material are we taking about, and how much did B. Nelson charge? If you don't mind disclosing that is...

Did JL provide a reason for their refusal?

I've been reading the B.Nelson thread, and he did channeled soles and beveled (not fiddleback) waists with an upcharge (around $200 usd).

That was brutal. It was like watching the USA vs Canada Womens Olympic hockey in the gold medal match.

They use a JR sole. It was around $100-200.

I've had it topied and toe caps placed. To clarify, they won't send it back to the factory but will send it somewhere locally for repair. B Nelson/VIP apparently do the work for them anyway.

That option was not offered to me.
