1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

True fiddleback waist would be expensive to resole.

Faux fiddleback is just like a typical resole job.

IMO, it really depends on preference and the shoe style. Sleek last better pair with sleek sole and waist and design. But for country shoe designs like Hove or country leather like cordovan/pigskin, it's better to have less sleek lasts IMO.

But nothing stops someone to order a cordovan double monk in Deco last and HAF sole.

May I know the differences between the two and how one can tell them apart?

Blind welt can only be done with hand and can have a much narrower waist with its wais/arch support. No machine can do blind welt. And not all bespoke makers can do blind welt.

GY welted fiddleback is just wilting the waist narrow and trimming the welt/sole close and shape the sole.

Would love to see these as a MTO option. They look very much like a Hogan trainer tho!

I think it's the work of the Devil.

A spectator or saddle would be a far more gentlemanly "sport" alternative. :)
