Not to be rude but i don´t understand how you can avoid a shine with the amount of work you put in. Like others said, less is more. Don´t apply to much pressure... try on some other shoes as well.
Pressure you mean press hard while I wax, because I don't? I don't know what I am doing wrong. Followed every step here, little wax, little water. And the result is that.
Easy does it, alright. Also be careful...don't use a lot of polish. You can nearly just touch the surface of the polish in the can. Each application should be so thin that it just barely clouds the surface. Small..tiny, really...circular motions are also a key element.

If you have ever used or are using an oil based conditioner or cream, you may...depending on the leather...have so saturated the leather that it will never shine. I am not saying this is the case, but it is possible and you should be aware of it.
Thanks for the info. I had a black shine on these before that my friend did for me without any problem. Now i'm trying the darkbrown for myself. But will let them rest today and try out tomorrow with the tip you gave me and see how it will be :)

What did you take the black off with?

From the first I used this on all the shoe:
- Saphir Renomat
- Saphir cream - medium brown
- Saphir Renovateur

Let them dry for a day then I started the polish with darkbrown wax from C&J.

Folks,

I hate to do this but I feel obligated to point that we do have a dedicated thread for cleaning and polishing shoes. Can we keep this G & G appreciation thread.

Thanks.

Here´s a pic to get the G&G appreciation going again :)

I give up, will give all my shoes to shoemakers from now on.

It looks like I am doing damage on the shoes.

Have you tried forgoing water for now? A little renovatur will leave a nice luster on it's own. Im sure a modest amount of saphir polish will render a shine once brushed and buffed.

The Gables look better in a dark colorway. And maybe the Frankenstitch design is as well..
