1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Nice! I would never guess chestnut, looks to dark. If i had to guess i would go for vintage oak.

Picture shows one way of wearing loafers. Personally I do prefer socks. For loafers I wear cotton socks that are either in a light pastel colour (for more casual occassions) or in a colour that does not stand out too much. I do understand the appeal of "socks off" but I think it's more comfortable with a pair of cotton socks. Maybe I'm just getting old. :D Repost:

What colour of polish would you use on these so as to not ruin the beautiful antiquing?

you can also use black and neutral....black with very thin layer applications will not darken it too much but do use the wax and not the cream as the cream has more pigment in it and will "blacken" it
