Which colour are those malat?. Well done.
I'm a size UK11 in C&J 337 (snug)
Do I try UK11.5 in G&G or stick with UK11?
Advice much appreciated.
+1 im a 10.5 C&J and an 11 G&G
Have you worn shoes with a dainite sole? I find them better than leather for significant city walking.
it's hard to justify, quasi. i have some boots with commando sole, though.
I also think putting those toe taps onto G&G is an abomination.
Double Dainte or Double Leather is best for long walks in my opinion.
All these southerners here living in the much too comfortable un-viking-like, pudgy part of the world has a hard time comprehending the harshness of real winter and the need for rubber soles. It was - 13 C (55 F) today in Stockholm when I took a 30 minute walk to work over snow and ice. I even had to chase off a polar bear who tried to eat an old lady. Try doing that in Oak Bark soles. When you’re up against an angry polar bear or a flock of starved wolves you need a pair of Canterbury in Elk-skin, Double Dainite sole and a storm welt. And perhaps a MacBook Pro to hit the nasty mammals over the head.
Anywhere in London that does flush toe plates? - like what G&G offers.
not enough grip with the dainite, imo. it's commando...
Ha! Where’s the sport in that?! You might as well slap a note on you back that says “I love musicals”. We only use Commando soles for real manly stuff in Sweden, like catching reindeer with your bare hands or shearing moose bulls.
.................eating Surströmming, maybe?
Minus the irony i think you are spot on regarding the choice of soles in northen europe. The days during one year that is perfekt for singel leather soles are quite few. We have rain all year round depending on were you live and in the spring we al the gravel left from the winter and takes several weeks before the streets are swept, it´s not very pleasant to walk on with leather soles. I really like leather soles but it´s not very convenient in Sweden. Telling someone that it´s wrong and he should only wear his shoes when it´s dry and warm outside it´s like telling someone from Arizona that it´s a good idea to spend 1000 dollar on a pair of rubber boots beacuse these are great to have when it rains. I´m going to put topys on several of my shoes this spring, i tried during two years to wear them without since it´s a big no no. I didn´t buy shoes to have them as a trophy but to use them, if i wear them out...i´ll buy new ones.
That´s why we invented
