G&G toe taps were £50 add-ons when I ordered some MTOs last week.

That is very interesting - thank you.

I think my opinion of both G&G's products and customer service are well known on this thread but that just reinforces my opinion.

3 out of 4 pairs of G&Gs have been faulty! In fact I have seen more perfect C&J seconds than my first pair of MTO that came straight from the factory.

I was quoted £90 on my RTW pair in the Savile Row shop. I got them done very nicely by a central London cobbler for £20 instead.

(P.S. not trying to suggest GG is overcharging here - it must be much more costly for them to divert factory resources to toe-tapping than for a cobbler who is set up to do precisely that kind of work.)

Toe taps installed as per the many recommendations on here and in particular the advice of my good friend @fritzl .

I actually think they look nicer with them which is a bonus.

You might also find that they sound nicer.

They look great Mr. Cash and I'm glad you didn't have to spend too much for the final output!

As for the functionality of the taps I'm strongly in the "rather have and not need than need and not have" camp. Aesthetically I think they're elegant and show a little more moxy than the average leather sole.

Decidedly neutral Friday. Mitchells in vintage oak on the square deco last.
