Two seasons too many for a lot of people...

Yeah, it sucked, but at least it was wearable for the blind.

You know we're in a recession when Gareth Pugh is evicted from his cardboard box and decides to get a job.

Haha wow! Though I felt KVAs third season for Dior wasn't so bad, it didn't wow me and the first season's butterfly vampires and the second season's cartoon treasure chest jewels & gold latex pants were more than enough grounds to fire someone. Gareth Pugh is talented on the unwearable end of things so hopefully that will translate well to the wearable end of things.

God, those jewel encrusted pants. Did KVA make anything good on his own outside of Dior? I'd imagine part of why he was bad was also due to the Dior ownership but I hadn't seen any of his stuff before and I certainly haven't been motivated to go look after what he's done with Dior.

Dior played it too save with KVA...it completely faded into the background and they lost their edge. I'm sure Pugh will bring something new to the table.

Gareth Pugh's FW 09 show already looks like a more contemporary re-skinning of the Dior Homme AW03 Luster show.

I posted a bunch of Gareth Pugh in the "style is not objective" thread. I'm pretty excited about this. While i appreciate his more visionist approach, it'll be interesting to see how he takes all his ideas and turns it into a wearable line, intended to make money, by a brand with some kind of identity. Should be cool to watch at least.
