I'll probably get reamed for this, but I'm looking to pick up a pair of these slim fit khakis for casual wear. Normally I probably wouldn't go gap, but for 20 bucks these are a steal. I have a pair of Levis 514s in a 34/32 that fit just a touch too big in the waist now, but fit nicely when I first got em (although I don't think I would be comfortable in a 32 waist until they had stretched a tad).

Are these going to be too loose (damn them for not having any sizes below a 34) and look sloppy?

+1. Size up at least one size and wash them when you get em.

if it helps any my 34x34 pair started 35 (17.5x2) waist 34 inseam and after being washed cold and hung dry now measure 33 (16.5x2) waist and 32 inseam . They also shrunk ridiculously in the seat.

I just got some ill-fitting BR chinos altered to have an 8" straight leg and they fit like a champ. I think I'll just try to find some Dockers on sale and have them altered. I'm surprised how quickly the GAP site sells out of things.

Excellent, I'm probably a 33 waist and got a 34, so hopefully after a wash they'll be spot on. I'm not looking for quality as much as something just to tide me over. For 20 bucks, I'm not expecting much. This is my last semester as a poor college kid before I actually have some money to spend...

Thanks guys - I'll post a follow up when I get em to help anyone else out.
