Everyone is making something "selvage" these days because of the raw and selvage crazes. Gap, Banana Republic, J Crew, everyone. Doesn't make it any better quality, seems like the same crap they always make. IIRC, a few years ago, even Abercrombie and Fitch and American Eagle were making something selvage, don't know if they still are or not. Now I'm just waiting for Old Navy to come out with a selvage version of their painter pants, lol.

does the selvage on the cuffs look extra wide and flared out? A little loud for me. I think these will do poorly, not one person I know knows what selvage is, even my buddy who likes jeans a lot needed an explanation. SO I don't think the demographic for the Gap will appreciate or shell out for this.

by the looks of it they are using selvage as just another cool accent on the jeans. besides that they look like any other gap jeans. and the loud color makes it much less appealing to me. give me some redline, pinkline, blueline, greenline, not that.

but these arent them. the 1969 had button fly, selvage on the INSIDE of the coin pocket, and normal looking pockets. these look like thai fake gap jeans.

their women's 1969 line had some nice selvage redline jeans earlier this year. One rinse and dark with no distressing, if they had men's jeans in the same denim for the same price it'd be a good buy.
